Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

An opportunity is available for a skilled Special Education Teacher or Learning Disabilities Teacher Consultant (LDTC) to support K-12 students in a dynamic school setting. This position offers part-time hours, providing dedicated instructional support to students with diverse learning needs.

Location:

  • Jersey City, NJ

Schedule and Duration:

  • Part-time, 3 days per week
  • Hours: 8:00 AM to 2:40 PM
  • Contract position lasting from ASAP through the end of the school year (EOSY)

Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialized instruction and consultation services to students across grades K-12
  • Manage a caseload of approximately 30-50 students, tailoring interventions to individual learning profiles
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Monitor student progress and adjust strategies to support academic and social-emotional growth
  • Maintain accurate records and comply with all district and state regulations regarding special education services

Qualifications:

  • Valid Special Education Teacher or LDTC certification in hand
  • Experience working with K-12 students in a special education setting
  • Strong understanding of learning disabilities and differentiated instructional strategies
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
