Job Summary
Flatiron Development is a high-end residential custom home builder dedicated to excellence in design, craftsmanship, and client satisfaction. We are seeking an experienced, talented Interior Designer to join our team! As an Interior Designer, you will be working closely with clients to bring their vision of the perfect space to life, while falling within safety guidelines and budget limitations. We pride ourselves on building homes of exceptional quality and working closely with our clients to bring their unique visions to life. You will also be working closely with trades, subcontractors, construction managers, architects, and other design professionals to ensure everything is completed properly, and up to standard. The ideal candidate has a background in design and construction, strong customer service skills, and the ability to multitask and handle multiple projects at once.

Responsibilities

• Meet with potential and current clients to determine their vision and needs for the space
• Advise and guide clients on the optimal layout and design features of their space
• Select and source finishes, materials, fixtures, and furnishings
• Offer design options that help clients stay within budget without sacrificing quality
  or style
• Use computer software to draft layouts and design elements
• Develop mood boards, design presentations, and finish schedules
• Maintain clear, professional communication with clients, project managers, trades
  and team members throughout the design process
• Utilize Buildertrend to manage selections, updates, and documentation
• Work within client budgets and needs to create the best space for them

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years previous experience in design and construction desired
• Strong computer skills, including experience with design drafting software and Microsoft Office suite, Photoshop, and Adobe systems
• Excellent customer service skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Strong attention to detail with a passion for custom home design
• Proven ability to collaborate as part of a team
• Proficient in Buildertrend (or ability to quickly learn).
• High school diploma or equivalent required; design degree preferred.
• Valid drivers license and reliable transportation (for site visits).
