Job Summary: Provides empathetic pharmacy consulting services to patients regarding the effective use of medications and drug interaction awareness. Offers preventive and clinical healthcare services, including immunizations, diagnostic testing, and patient outcome services. Ensures prescribed medications are compounded, reviewed, dispensed, and verified accurately according to regulatory guidelines and company policies and procedures. Manages an efficient pharmacy workflow, improves pharmacy financials, manages inventory effectively, and enhances patient experience. Oversees pharmacy staff performance, engagement, and professional development through training, coaching, and performance management initiatives. Job Responsibilities: Patient Experience Engages patients, greets them, offers assistance, resolves issues, and answers questions to ensure a positive experience. Models and shares customer service best practices to deliver a distinctive and joyful patient experience, demonstrating care and Walgreens service traits. Connects with patients by anticipating needs and proactively offering services, promoting the shift from transactional to interpersonal pharmacy care. Participates in community events as requested. Operations Counsels patients on medication usage, side effects, interactions, and privacy, referring to medical providers as needed. Performs pharmacist tasks including compounding, drug therapy reviews, verification, and medication management. Reviews and dispenses medications accurately, ensuring compliance with regulations and policies. Ensures efficient pharmacy operations, staff scheduling, and shift management. Follows Good Faith Dispensing policies and collaborates on strategic business opportunities. Maintains pharmacy systems, supports staff and patients with IT, and seeks productivity improvements. Processes insurance claims, resolves issues, and follows up with providers for medication clarifications. Performs clinical services such as immunizations and diagnostic testing. Manages pharmacy maintenance, records, and reports as required by law. People & Performance Management Collaborates on hiring, discipline, and compliance with employment laws. Establishes expectations, promotes teamwork, manages performance, and recognizes staff improvements. Identifies high potential team members and manages career progression. Addresses employee relations and maintains morale. Training & Personal Development Maintains licensing and certifications, and updates knowledge through continuous learning. Completes required training and seeks professional development opportunities. Communications Supports store communication of health and wellness services and strategies. Business Performance Management Analyzes performance data, manages assets, and identifies opportunities for improvement. Business Planning Builds relationships with healthcare providers, promotes pharmacy services, and supports community health initiatives. Minimum Qualifications: BS in Pharmacy or Pharm D from an accredited institution. Current pharmacist licensure in the states within the district. Certified Immunizer or willing to become one within 90 days. At least 1 year of pharmacy experience including prescription filling, legal compliance, and pharmacy systems. Knowledge of state and federal controlled substance laws. Positive performance review and no recent disciplinary actions (internal candidates).
